This striking installation feels like a bird’s-eye view of a mountain range or the inside of a giant, fossilized seashell. It features hundreds of thin, rough-edged layers that stack on top of each other, creating “ripples” that seem to grow right out of the wall. Because the edges are left slightly raw and jagged, the piece feels honest and natural, like something found in the wild rather than made in a factory.
The high-relief layers cast strong, dramatic shadows under the ceiling lights, giving the room a deep sense of texture and “quiet luxury.” It is a powerful conversation piece that brings the raw, grounding energy of the earth into a modern living space.
Medium: High-density mineral plaster relief and fine limestone compound
Technique: Multi-layered “terrace-sculpting” featuring hand-tooled jagged edges and concentric radial carving
Finish: Raw, unbleached bone-white matte finish with a granular, stone-like texture
Form: An expansive horizontal mural featuring three-dimensional “islands” of stacked, organic ridges
