The Rhythm of Grain

This sophisticated installation is a study in contrast and natural movement. It features sixteen wooden tiles arranged in a perfect square, creating a bold checkerboard effect.

Half of the tiles glow with the warm, honey-colored patterns of natural wood grain, while the other half are a deep, midnight black. Each tile is carved with flowing, rhythmic ridges that look like wind-blown sand or ripples on a dark lake. Because the textures change direction from one tile to the next, the entire piece feels like it’s subtly shifting as you walk past.
