Description:

This contemporary stone relief panel sculpture balances raw wabi-sabi textures with mid-century opulence. The design features a sprawling, multi-panel mosaic that mimics heavily weathered natural slate, beautifully punctuated by highly reflective, bright gold leaf accents. The dramatic texturing and metallic detailing catch the direct glare of overhead spotlights, ensuring the wall piece constantly evolves under different interior lighting conditions. Highly searchable under modern lobby feature walls, abstract gold leaf reception art, and architectural plaster relief panels, this installation serves as a low-maintenance, high-impact alternative to standard slab marble or stone cladding.

Medium: Mixed media installation combining fiber-reinforced concrete composite, high-density architectural plaster, metallic gold leafing, deep bronze powder pigments, and built-in rear brackets for vertical LED halo lighting.

Technique: High-relief geologic texture molding; a massive structural slate facade is intricately hand-sculpted with heavy surface texturing, intentionally split with sprawling cracks and fissures that are layered with brilliant metallic leafing to simulate raw earth breaking open.

Finish: A heavily textured multi-tone finish; combining rough, light-absorbing dark bronze-grey stone sections with smooth, intensely reflective crinkled gold leaf inside the crevices.

Form: A grand, monolithic rectangular accent backdrop with an imposing, tactile three-dimensional face that integrates seamlessly into a recessed wall cavity
