The artwork beautifully mimics elements found in nature, resembling polished river stones resting inside smoothly carved wooden pods or open seed shells. The genius of the design lies in its contrast: the deep, warm metallic bronze dishes provide a smooth, dark frame that perfectly anchors the piece against neutral paneled walls. Nestled inside, the textured white stones pop forward with a beautifully crackled, eggshell-like surface that catches the ambient room lighting. Placed above a dining table setup, it serves as a stunning, sophisticated centerpiece that coordinates effortlessly with warm lighting, candles, and stone textures to capture a complete “quiet luxury” mood.
Medium: Mixed media installation combining hand-cast structural resin back-dishes, lightweight reinforced composite core domes, and an inlaid mosaic of natural capiz shell shards
Technique: High-relief layering and material contrast; two asymmetrical, concave oval dishes are sculpted to act as floating backdrops. Placed off-center inside each dish are heavy-relief, dome-shaped “pebbles” hand-laid with countless crackled shell fragments, creating a sharp multi-layered 3D projection off the wall.
Finish: A sophisticated dual-finish; the smooth, concave backing dishes feature a soft, light-reflecting satin oil-rubbed bronze finish, while the nested domes showcase a highly textured, pearlescent matte white finish that softly glimmers under light.
Form: A 2-piece modular abstract installation (diptych) consisting of one large elongated oval and one smaller rounded dish, hung in a sweeping, diagonal floating arrangement.
