This soothing wall piece feels like a slice of a quiet, mossy forest captured in fabric. It uses thick, puffy tufts of wool to create raised ridges that look like rolling hills or the edges of a canyon. The artist used different shades of green and cream to create a sense of depth, making some parts look like they are receding while others pop out toward you.
Because it is made of soft, tactile fibers, it adds a cozy and “quiet” feeling to the room, helping to dampen sound while acting as a beautiful, earthy focal point. It’s a perfect addition for a space designed for relaxation and connection with nature.
Medium: High-texture textile (Blend of organic wool yarn, cotton loops, and felted fibers)
Technique: Hand-tufting and multi-level loop piling to create varying heights and “rugged” edges
Finish: Soft, matte fiber finish in a muted palette of sage green, moss, and oatmeal cream
Form: A vertical rectangular panel featuring flowing, diagonal “strata” or layers that mimic a mountain landscape
