Concept Narrative and Meaning
The Terracotta Constellation explores the idea of unity within diversity.
Each disc within the composition stands as an individual entity—distinct in tone, texture, and presence. Yet when viewed collectively, these elements align to form a harmonious visual constellation across the wall.
The arrangement draws inspiration from celestial constellations, where distant stars appear scattered across the night sky yet together form patterns that guide navigation and storytelling.
Here, the terracotta discs become symbolic “planets” or “celestial bodies,” each representing a fragment of identity, memory, or emotion. Their placement appears spontaneous, yet a deeper balance exists beneath the surface—reflecting the invisible structures that hold the universe together.
Terracotta itself carries deep symbolic resonance. As a material derived from earth, it represents grounding, warmth, and origin. Its earthy hues evoke a connection to nature, craft, and the timeless tradition of handmade forms.
As one moves through the passage, the discs reveal themselves from shifting perspectives—echoing the idea that meaning often emerges through movement and time.
Together, the installation suggests that while each element of life may seem independent, it ultimately forms part of a larger cosmic harmony.
In this way, The Terracotta Constellation transforms a transitional space into a quiet meditation on connection—between individuals, between moments, and between the earthly and the cosmic.
